Rock for Socks After a Night of Cool
The Interbike trade show is a staple on the DeFeet calendar each year. This year, with the help of Invista® (CoolMax®), Fender Instruments, and Rich Pierson (Pierson Construction), we added some 'umph' to the standard trade show routine.
The Triple Kranks showed up and rocked the House of Blues with their new single, 'Lookin For the Maillot Jaune'. It was a fitting way to wrap up the 2007 season. DeFeet extends a tremendous 'THANK YOU' to everyone that helped make 'A Night of Cool' happen. Extra thanks to our dealers that attended the event!
The day after 'A Night of Cool', 'Rock for Socks' took the stage at the DeFeet booth at Interbike. Once again, contestants played the guitar, sang, and (in one case) beat on a box with drumsticks. For all of us attending the DeFeet booth, it's an entertaining way to break things up during the day, to say the least. At 5pm, everyone gathered for the finale. John McDonell from the Mojo Bicycle Cafe threw down impressive solo moves on the Fender Stratacaster. His tantalizing sound, using the entire neck, smooth vocals and body english brought him the win. His prize was a brand new Fender acoustic guitar - well done, John! In a close runner-up spot, deserving mention, was Mike Griggs from SBR Sports. Mike actually created new material, same day, and played his own stuff. It sounded great, winning him the admiration of the entire crowd, his fellow players, the DeFeet team, and nearly the title of DeFeet's 'Rock for Socks Champion, Interbike '07'.
DeFeet Chief Sockologist Shane Cooper awards 'Rock for Socks' Champion John McDonell his Fender guitar. Triple Kranks band member Jonathan Birchfield stares on, mesmerized by either a show girl or McDonell's performance.Check out Pedal Pushers online coverage of a 'Night of Cool'.

Rock on, everyone.
