The DeFeet community extends far beyond the walls of our building. Without the support of friends and family, DeFeet would not have the heart and soul that has sustained it through all these years. In 2002, one member of our extended family contracted breast cancer. This woman is one truly driven sole! Through her battle with cancer, she kept a photographic journal of her diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Her project was so visually stunning and emotionally moving, other survivors came forth wishing to express themselves as well. From this experience and vision, Through Healing Eyes was born. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to ensure that all women, regardless of financial or insured status, is provided education, diagnosis, and if necessary treatment of breast cancer.














Through Healing Eyes collaborates with other breast cancer survivors in the Hickory area to offer a beautiful and powerful calendar. All donations and proceeds from this calendar are returned to the community to achieve their goal of breast health for all women.
