TdF stage 6 - Boonen DeFeet's All.

Zabel looks left and.. again the DeFeet logos are the first to cross the line.

Tv coverage stopped today with a lot of racing left. I'm doubtful there was much to comment on between 30k to go and 3k to go. I assume that a Quickstep Express kept things together and that it was a Boulevard sized field sprint. Boonen ground his DeFeet socks into his shoes hard enough to win one. It's been a long time coming, too. Can you imagine what it's like beeing a DeFeet sock inside his shoe? It's like you or I getting dogpiled by sumo wrestlers. McEwen seems to be in a funk. Zabel must have read my prediction that he wouldn't ever win a stage again because he threatens daily to make me eat those words.

It wasn't so entertaining, today. Wiggins wigged out and made himself a hard day of it. Sometimes a guy really doesn't plan on doing that. He might get a little itch in his shorts, make an attack early in the day, and when no one responds he goes "Uh oh. What did I just do? I can't just sit up." Then he's by himself for 100 miles. If a guy wakes up and sees a beast in the mirror when he waddles into the bathroom, he might say "MMm. Today I crush everyone from start." Sort of like when a climber wakes up in Camp IV on Everest and coughs out "Ah, today I will summit. Without ropes or oxygen, wearing only my boxer shorts." Later in the day, they usually realize their folly.

If you watch the race, later, you've got to see something. With around 105 kilometer to go, there is a crash in the feed zone. An Italian rider is on the ground, and there are medical staff tending to him. There is a guy taking pictures, facing them in the road. He has a white Canon L series lens on his camera.. but that's not what you'll need to look at. His moustache.. it's a World beater. It's the Maillot Jaune of moustachios. I've seen this guy in different places around the World, and I'm tellin ya, you won't believe your eyes. He's following the Tour on the back of a motorbike. I'd venture that at the end of a flowery stage, he could have a dozen bees crawling around in that thing wondering where the exit is. In fact, he probably uses it to store extra lenses and filters in there.

The DeFeet 'High Top' Aireator's are being used extensively in the Tour. Here, they are seen on both the T-Mobile and Quickstep riders. The High Top Aireator is available in any configuration you like from the DeFeet Custom Shop.
