Bart Bowen: The Top Coach In Any Town.

It's a crisp December Saturday in the desert mountain village of Bend, Oregon. It's a perfect day. There is so much to do today that I can't move. I'm starting my day though by writing about Bart Bowen, owner of CDC by Bowen coaching. Bart was at my house last night for dinner, with his family. They moved here about a year ago from Albequerque. We sat at the computer and he went through his site excitedly "Check this out! and look at this..".
CDC (Carpe Diem Coaching) by Bowen is Bart's platform to pass on his knowledge of training and racing in cycling and other aerobic sports. The web interface that he has built enables an athlete anywhere in the World to access the site, input their training for the day, and receive back from Bart information relevant to their specific needs. Bart even examines and gives input on races clients do.
Now, there are a lot of coaches out there giving feedback to cyclists that want to improve. There are few to none like Bart Bowen. I spent two years with Bart, traveling around Europe as teammates (Subaru-Montgomery). We spent months, well, years, preparing for and racing in the wildest races out there. Of all the cyclists I've known, Bart was undoubtedly the most organized, thorough, emotionally stable and thoughtful rider. His results on the bike have come not only from a great natural ability, but probably more so from his systematic approach.

In the last decade he has supplemented his knowledge dramatically. Today he is in a league of his own, globally, with regard to sport, physiology, the mental aspect, and how it all ties together. Anyone, regardless of level or where they live, who wants to learn more and improve at cycling, triathlon, or similar sports, could benefit greatly by working with Bart.
Bart's personal story is really interesting. He has been an exemplary athlete, having seen success in a lot of areas. He had to figure a lot of things out on his own. Most of the time, athletes that do that at the level that Bart did are not quite able to convey their message to others. Bart does that wonderfully, showing yet another gift.
